Vacation blog for 7-31-2017 Including What The Fur

Posted by JaSonic
Jul 31 2017

This coming Sunday, the bus and subway will be FREE all night until 5am on Monday, so I want to take advantage of it, so yeah this was quite unexpected... usually it's in the dead of winter, but since Montreal is in the midst of its 375th celebrations, well it's all free overnight, and this is right after the con finishes.

Thursday:

I am already broadcasting party music! The station goes by the elevators downstairs and when you get away from the hotel and outside, the signal goes to mono, but eh it's fine. Since this is the last What The Fur, I'm kind of sad, but it's ok... I'll bring this convention down and we'll go out with a BANG!

Since I have a room with only 1 bed, it didn't really appeal to the other Sonic fan, Nick anymore. I guess it's better like this since it will avoid confusion with the groceries and things. He didn't want to bring a mattress, but that's fine.

I did meet Nick at What The Fur last year, same hotel. They would charge me extra for a blow-up mattress. I thought it would be a double bed because it said that on the site and it was 2 times in a row that I had a double bed.

I bought myself a box of 12 cans of Bud Light Radler beer (light beer with fruit juice). The Radler is grapefruit-flavored. It's a very acquired taste, just like Guinness, lol

I just played 'Chocomang - I Want To Kiss A Dog' from my Doggy Radio category on Sonic 95.5 FM, and everyone that was still tuned in heard it and thought "What the hell is this?" lol

I'm gonna try to play at least 1 Doggy Radio song every single day in my live sets. That should make Boomer happy :D

I just used one of Boomer's IDs. I think I need to play a Doggy Radio tune each time I play one of the IDs. I am not putting them in my playlist, they will only be used in my live sets.

I went to the Opening Ceremonies, the Friday night lounge, gaming, and then will be just going for the dance Saturday night into Sunday morning... Sonic's going to dance is a** off, no matter how hot I get in fursuit, lol.

And on Sunday I will be going to the Closing Ceremonies and the Dead Dog Party. Might not be able to write everything in my blog this time, so you'll have to read from the E-Mail I'm giving you.

The weather. When I was at the hotel on Thursday, I was getting groceries for the weekend, but then as soon as I came back, there were a few rain drops and then as soon as I came into my hotel room, all hell broke loose. Didn't see any lightning nor hear any thunder though.

Since What The Fur is nearing the end, I would just like to say that since Sonic is a furry (GOD BLESS THAT!!!), I will be spending some alone time with him, and some alone time with him. I was the only hedgehog in the whole convention. For my starting 2 years (2014 & 2015), I was in the fursuit parade, and my 2 last years (last year and this year), I was out of the fursuit parade, which was okay because I got to DJ on Sonic 95.5 FM, which threw any chances of me getting PCD out the window. Last year I wasn't playing any music after the closing ceremonies and I didn't cry... this year was different. VERY different.

Well, bye What The Fur... I will miss you!!! *cries*

Since this one is the very last time we are all together at a con, I really need to spend quality time with Sonic. I need to do this... NO NUIT BLANCHE FOR ME! Even though the buses and subways are free this weekend until 5am tomorrow.

My vacation blogging continues...

July 21st - Starting on Friday this time yet again , my friend Nick came over for supper since I invited him. I had an idea on how to get my Sonic fursuit ready for the last What The Fur... we both went to Fabricville, bought some styrofoam and some cotton and now it's all plump. I still need to go to his place on Monday after he finishes his work. He'll pick me up and maybe his girlfriend too since she wants to meet me as well. My fursuit will be all done by convention time.

July 22nd - Saturday. Hopped on the Internet to find some stuff and I was growing ever more excited for the con and the very big trip that Nick and I are planning for September. I went out like at 9:38pm for a shortened Nuit Blanche and came back home at 11:52.

July 23rd - On Sunday morning, I was working on a multi-purpose DJ wallpaper for myself since I will be an in-car DJ for him and I also have the directions on the same wallpaper.

Anyway, I'm definitely excited! I just have to really contain myself here. I'm just about to BLAST OFF here, and I am sure that you guys know the feeling as well, when you're just so excited about certain things.

I didn't have a lot of money for Sunday shopping, so I am stretching out what I already have, and what I have is 1 bottle of Diet Pepsi, smallish one... 1 chocolate milk, 2 bags of salt & vinegar Crispers, and 1 container of salt & vinegar Pringles. I need all the money I can for next week's What The Fur. OH BOY, AM I EVER SO EXCITED!!!

Thanks for reading along with Boomer & Ricochet. I hope you guys have a really good day today (Monday) and thank yous, always for tuning in to the Pawpet Broadcasting Network (PBN).

My vacation blogging continues...

July 14th - Starting on Friday this time, I went to bed at 4am only to wake up at 9:40. First, I needed to pick up some more fidget spinners, 2 more since the one I had (and sent to Boomer to put on the site) broke. I didn't know that it had metal parts, so I played with it in water. That wasn't really good, and it totally broke on me... first I tried a remedy - soak it in vinegar and then wash it off with rubbing alcohol, but that didn't work at all. I mean it did work for a time, but then the metal bearings totally rusted out on me, so I had to throw that away and was thinking where I could buy some more... my dad said that they were selling some at the dollar store, and he told me this either Wednesday or Thursday night. So I went there this morning before hitting the road to go up north to the Blues Festival, and they were $5.99 each and I bought 2 of them. Blue, of course, like the one that I accidently broke. anyway, it's like 1:50pm and we're already here. I tried to get that 105.5 FM station while we were coming here and it looks like the station went off the air. Oh well, it's fine. When we finally came to the room at 3:30, I tested my other laptop out because there has been known to have problems, and as it stands, they still persist, but with the laptop I am on right now, pfffft I absolutely have no problems whatsoever! It runs like a total charm, this laptop. My dad said that the other laptop might be good for the garbage, but I know that it's very finicky with Windows 10, and I don't know if it's even possible to downgrade it to a Windows 7 again because it's still a good laptop and it would be a total shame to throw that laptop out, but if we can't salvage it, well I guess we won't be able to keep it. *sad face*

July 15th - Saturday. Didn't do much of anything, but I did get some groceries. 2 ham sandwiches, 3 types of cheeses, and 1 Magnum ice cream on a stick coated with chocolate, yummy!

July 16th - Woke up and went downstairs for the breakfast buffet. This time they didn't have too much to offer, but eh it's fine. During the evening, I went down and got two more of that Magnum ice cream on a stick, still the peanut butter one, came up here and got a plate to eat over, and I enjoyed the ice cream thoroughly! I need to be careful with my money, though, since I want to really enjoy myself at What The Fur coing up in about 10 days from now, ooh am I ever so excited!!!

Anyway, on Friday I did watch a show, and the artist's name was Coco Montoya. That was a good show, and I stayed for 55 minutes. That was the highlight of my whole weekend, and I love it over here! I told Romeo that I wouldn't be listening tonight and not Doggy Radio either. Told Boomer as well, so he's fully aware.

My vacation blogging continues...

Today starting on Tuesday - My dad and I went down to Kingston, but we stopped in Brockville for Dollar Tree before continuing on to Kingston. Lovely room. Went to an Indian restaurant for supper. After we came back, we both watched the "Horrible Bosses 2" movie.

Wednesday - Got up at a decent hour to go to an Asian restaurant, called Apsara Angkor, in downtown Kingston, and then waited in line to take a trip to Wolfe Island across from Kingston. Now, I remember when my dad and I took a trip on Highway 95 on Wolfe Island right to the US border, but turned around a few hundred feet before we got to customs. This year we both traveled on Highway 96 witch goes on the entire island. We went to the western tip of the island and then back to the east, but not to the eastern tip. We got in line again to take the ferry back to Kingston, but the ferry was full and we were the first few vehicles in line for the 5:30pm boarding (which was way out of whack because of some stupid traffic lights right close to where the ferry docks on the Kingston side. We only boarded at around 6:10 to 6:15). Before boarding, we both went to grab a beer, called "Wolfe Island's Cannonball" and it was pretty good. We went in the car after we had the beer and we went on the ferry. That evening I forgot what I was doing. I had terrible WiFi on Tuesday and it continued even on Wednesday. Went to sleep around 1:30 in the morning with my 20-inch Sonic since I brought him down with me.

Thursday, woke up around 10:15 and went on the Internet, and the WiFi was a bit better, and this is the day when we went back to Montreal via Highway 2 (Highway 2 runs parallel to Highway 401). But before that happened, we went to the Panda Garden Buffet, or what it once was called. Now, it's under new management and is now called Peony Asian Buffet, but it was still great food! I would still go back there again. Anyway, off we went and now I am back in Montreal.

And that's where I will leave it because I think that will be the most exciting part of this past week. Oh, and one more thing... during my stay at the hotel, there's this nice indoor waterpark that I did go to before, and I loved it, but this time I didn't go to the waterpark on either Tuesday afternoon when we checked in or even Wednesday. Thursday I just didn't have time to go to the waterpark... what a good excuse, lol. Anyway, right now on Friday I am anticipating some pretty weird weather from now until Sunday or even Monday so that may mean no going out getting exercise for me. I did say to myself that maybe there could be a chance, but I'll see.

UPDATE! (or addendum for all of you out there) - I did finally get a fairly powerful thunderstorm on Saturday at 6:45am. I was still awake wanting to see if the radar was right, and it was because about 20 minutes earlier, I did check the TV and there was a red line coming towards Montreal. It's been known that thunderstorms have fizzled out before they get here from the west, but thankfully this one didn't fizzle out. It was super loud, the thunder, at times, and there was plenty of lightning. I had to unplug my laptop just so the lightning doesn't do anything to the hard drive. I am still on battery power as I type this out.

Before I go, I know all of you want to know my grocery bill, so please allow either Boomer or Ricochet to read the list all to you: 2 big Diet Pepsi bottles, 1 big carbonated strawberry drink, 3 salt & vinegar Crispers, 1 bag of fresh curd cheese (eaten before supper), and 3 sparkling carbonated water beverages. That's all for this week's grocery list. No Monster drinks this week since there wasn't anymore ULTRA BLUE flavor, and that is the best kind I like - Not because of the Sonic blue coloring of the can nor the name Ultra Blue... it's just the flavor that I like, that's all. Another note that I need to give you guys. Next week there will be a blog, but I won't be listening live since I will be going to the Mont-Tremblant Blues Festival up north of my city. I'd say a good 175 miles north of here. I may download the podcast on the week of the 17th, but then again I don't know what I will be doing from the 17th to the 21st, but this is for certain, that I am getting really excited for What The Fur, and mixed in with a bit of sadness as well because this will be the last one. Ah well, that's why I need to make this one count!

Anyway, on to my closing...

Thank you, guys, for reading this week's vacation blog, even though it was a short one, but then I made it into a longer one in the last few days, lol.

Vacation blog for July 3rd, 2017

Jul 03 2017

My vacation blogging continues...

Monday - I went with my dad to a restaurant to help celebrate a friend's 70th birthday.

Tuesday - Came into the Action Center to surprise people since I told everyone that I was going to be on vacation until September and that was on June 9th. I was DJing with my friend, Shawn. He put on his megamix, which was good. He had a really good megamix. There was a big thunderstorm with heavy rain coming down while I was in the Action Center and thankfully the power didn't go out. Before I hopped on the bus to go home, the sun after the rain was really hot and I couldn't wait to get on the bus to avoid my skin getting burned. Anyway, after supper, I decided to do some copying of music to 2 external hard drives. One to a 931-GB one (a present that Nick's dad gave me for my birthday) and some copying to a 64-GB stick. I like to copy stuff, it keeps me from doing horny stuff to Sonic, although I do like that and Sonic likes it when I do that to him, I am trying to control my horniness nowadays. Enough about that, I'll get to Wednesday.

Wednesday - Early in the morning, I copied some more songs on my 64-GB stick, songs that I forgot to copy from my "DJ Sonic 3", "DJ Sonic 6", "DJ Sonic 8", "DJ Sonic 9", and "DJ Sonic 10" on my C drive. I went into CKUT and I told everyone that I was gonna be on vacation as well. There was one more teching job I had to do for Thursday as well.

Thursday - Off The Hour @ CKUT.

Friday - BAZAAR! Was DJing for a whopping 9 hours during the event alongside Shawn as I asked him if he wanted to join. The organizer, Maria, wanted to listen to him play to see how good he is. He did fabulous, and I am his manager, so I pat him on the back for a job well done.

Saturday, July 1st... CANADA DAY! - 1st official day of my 2-month long vacation! Boy, was it ever humid outside today. I was waiting for some pretty powerful thunderstorms to come my way, but they fizzled out. It was also too humid for me to go see the fireworks at night since it was the starting of the fireworks competition. I was anticipating those storms, but as I said, they fizzled out.

Sunday, July 2nd - Like last year, I will mark the month and the day while my vacation's going on. Earlier on this morning, Yahoo! Mail was down, and I don't know why because I checked the status of it, and it said it was up, so I don't know what the heck happened there. Anyway, sitting here waiting for tonight's furry programming. I will go get my groceries later on since I need some good stuff to keep me awake.

Grocery bill for Sunday: 3 cheeses, 2 Monster drinks, a box of sponge cookies, a box of cookie chips (a blend of cookie combined with chip), and some Goldfish. I already got some Diet Pepsi left from my purchase of 2 6-packs on Thursday night for the Bazaar on Friday.

Thanks for listening to both The Rabbit Hole (Radiolawn between 2 parts of The Rabbit Hole), and Doggy Radio everyfur! Now back to your regular covfefe (Donald Trump's Twitter reference)! As I have stated before to some people in Pawpet IRC, this hedgehog continues to support Rapid T. Rabbit, Oh! Pawpets, The Woulfe Pack, and the Funday Pawpet Show since it's very kind of them to contribute some of their own time for the audience.

Just before I sign out, I want to wish my friends to the south of me a very happy Independence Day on Tuesday!
